Formula & example
Write an integer without grouping separators. Trial division finds each prime and its exponent; a negative input includes a factor −1. Example:360 = 2³ × 3² × 5. Values 0 and±1 are not given a prime factorization. Absolute values above 10¹² are rejected before work begins so a very large pasted number cannot start an unbounded calculation. Factoring runs in your browser and is not intended for cryptographic keys.
n = p₁^a × p₂^b × …
360 = 2³ × 3² × 5
